About the Role

This nursing position requires a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in emergency care, specializing in patient assessment, treatment, and management. Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Department, identifying potential diagnoses and developing individualized care plans.
  • Treatment and Management: Administer medications, perform procedures, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Clinical Decision Making: Utilize critical thinking skills to make informed decisions regarding patient care, taking into account medical history, physical examination findings, and laboratory results.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required.
  • Licensure: Massachusetts Registered Nurse License required.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years' telemetry experience preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications:

Work Environment

The Emergency Department at Mass General Brigham is a fast-paced environment where our team provides compassionate and personalized care to every patient who comes through our doors. We have a 21-bed unit and staffing ratios for nursing are 4 to 1, with staggered shifts throughout the day to cover the highest volume times with the most staff.
