Barge Cleaning and Repair Operations Manager

Job Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Foreman to lead and manage our barge cleaning and repair teams. The successful candidate will have a strong background in barge operations, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of barge cleaning and repair personnel, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and work efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Plan and oversee barge cleaning and repair projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control, to ensure successful and on-time project completion.
- Promote a culture of safety by implementing and enforcing safety procedures and regulations, conducting safety training, and ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Ensure that all barge cleaning and repair work meets quality standards and complies with industry regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and repair of tools and equipment used in barge cleaning and repair operations.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, including work hours, materials used, and any incidents or issues encountered during operations.
- Collaborate with barge maintenance managers, outside contractors, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project status and resolve any project-related issues.
- Implement environmental protection measures to prevent pollution and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in barge cleaning and repair operations.
- Be able to maintain an active TWIC.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of barge cleaning and repair techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Excellent understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the maritime industry.
- Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Effective communication and team management skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute complex projects.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Knowledge of barging operations and river system.
- Knowledge of USCG, OSHA, MSDS regulations.
- 5-7 years of previous brown water barge supervision cleaning and repair competence.
- Proficient in using MS Office software products.
- Crane Operator certification.
