Job Description

As an Engineering Technician DCL, you will play a critical role in the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development's (DOTD) construction contracts unit. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the department's primary AASHTOWare Project Preconstruction software expert, providing guidance and training to other section personnel on the use of this software.

You will be responsible for creating legal advertisements for the monthly bid letting(s), reviewing all posted documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal laws, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge with district and section system contracts. Additionally, you will assist DOTD personnel, contractors, and the public in answering questions and making decisions regarding the construction contract advertisement process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the department's primary AASHTOWare Project Preconstruction software expert
  • Create legal advertisements for the monthly bid letting(s)

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of one year of experience in the preparation, revision, interpretation, and/or application of construction advertisements. You will also need to have a strong understanding of AASHTOWare Project Preconstruction software and the ability to provide guidance and training to others.
