Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Professional to support the work of the Capital District YMCA. This role will help create a positive environment, nurture relationships, and support the potential of all youth at our sites.

Locations: Joseph Henry Elementary, Woodlawn Elementary, Zoller Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Glen Worden Elementary, Lincoln Elementary (Scotia), Sacandaga Elementary, Glendaal Elementary

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support site leadership in creating a positive environment for youth
  • Nurture relationships and facilitate peer-to-peer connections
  • Support the potential of all youth at our sites

Requirements:

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • One year of experience working with children under 13 or a high school diploma/GED

Education and Experience:

  • AAS in Child Development, Education, or related field or a high school diploma/GED
  • Two years direct experience with children under age 13 required

Training and Development:

  • Completed Physical and TB Test (within the last year)
  • Completed CPR, AED, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Child Abuse Prevention
  • Completed 15 hours of childcare related training (then 15 hours annually)
