Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually, dependent on location and qualifications. The pay rate for this position will be commensurate with experience.

The Production Supervisor's role is to oversee the manufacturing area and supervise a team of extrusion operators. This is a night shift position working 12-hour shifts (7pm-7am), following a 2-2-3 schedule with alternating weekends off. Key responsibilities include providing leadership and support to the team members, promoting growth for individual operators, and ensuring team goals for productivity and efficiency are met. At all times, observations of safety, HACCP/Relevant Food Safety guidelines, and policies must be assured, as well as those of team members.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the manufacturing area and supervise a team of extrusion operators.
  • Prepare and administer performance evaluations, conduct coaching sessions with employees, and administer corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained to do their job and are properly trained on new technologies/procedures that are introduced.
  • Coach through feedback and development, follow change management practices to effectively plan, implement, and evaluate change.
  • Maintain proper staffing on shift, including absences, vacations, and daily breaks covered, and ensure there are adequate personnel to cover shift assignments. Manage efficient use of the workforce.
  • Be a company champion, lead by example, support, and communicate company policies.
  • Conduct regular effective team meetings and make small group presentations.
  • Identify and solve quality/equipment problems.
  • Assist operators with line changeovers, line cleaning, manufacturing supplies.
  • Ensure productivity and efficiency goals are met, monitor target speeds, quick changeovers, and improved start-ups. Accurately follow PM schedule.
Requirements:
  • 3 - 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • 1 - 3 years previous supervision/leadership experience.
  • Extrusion knowledge/experience preferred.
  • Able to stand on feet 12 hours per shift.
  • Able to lift 45 lbs.
  • Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Able to prepare reports, presentations, analyses using Microsoft Office.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to motivate others to meet demands established by the production schedule.
  • Able to effectively handle pressure and challenges.
  • The capability to take proactive steps in managing problems.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in business, operations, engineering, or related degree a plus.
