Overview

The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. seeks a dedicated Activities and Engagement Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of diverse programs and activities that cater to the unique needs and interests of our residents.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to design and deliver engaging experiences that promote social interaction, physical activity, intellectual stimulation, and cultural enrichment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in recreation or a related field, experience working with seniors, and a passion for creating inclusive and accessible environments.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a monthly schedule of activities, events, and programs that reflect the diverse interests and abilities of our residents.
  • Create opportunities for socialization, physical activity, intellectual stimulation, and cultural enrichment through group and individual activities, outings, and workshops.
  • Collaborate with community partners, service providers, and volunteers to arrange for the provision of programs and activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities, including attendance, feedback, and suggestions for future programming.
  • Work closely with the administrative team to ensure seamless execution of activities and events.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field; OR equivalent experience in a recreation or senior services setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with seniors, preferably in a recreation or program coordination role.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to move around the facility and participate in activities as needed.
Salary Range

$55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
