Recess Support Specialist

Skokie School District 73.5 seeks a dedicated Recess Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable recess experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other recess staff to coordinate lunch processes and grade-level student transitions.
- Take initiative to coordinate recess activities as needed.
- Actively and frequently interact with students in a mutually respectful and caring manner.
- Maintain a student-centered approach.
- Contribute to a positive environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of students' needs, skills, and language proficiencies.
- Use appropriate materials and resources to help students at recess.
- Work in partnership with classroom teachers and administration to ensure students are safe and focused during recess time.
- Actively engage students in meeting clear behavior expectations.
- Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with all stakeholders.
- Carry out all logistical tasks at recess efficiently and effectively.
- Exhibit integrity, leadership, and professionalism as a positive member of the school community.
- Follow duties assigned by the assistant principal.
Requirements
- Illinois State law requires all employees of school districts to pass a fingerprint criminal background check.
