Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Therapist at Trinity Health, you will provide general and emergency respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols. Your expertise will include respiratory assessment, airway and ventilator management, bi-level non-invasive ventilation management, pulmonary diagnostics, delivery of medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene therapy, lung expansion therapy, intubation, CPR, bronchoscopy assistance, arterial line placement, arterial sampling, and ABG analysis and interpretation.

Responsibilities:

Assess changes in patient clinical condition and make independent judgments to modify care as necessary according to departmental policies and approved physician protocols.

Routinely make rounds with physicians in critical care units and act as a preceptor to support and develop new and existing staff members.

Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients and recognize changes in patients to modify care as necessary according to departmental standards and approved physician protocols.

Perform airway and ventilator management, arterial line insertions, ABG sticks, and conduct ABG analysis and interpretation.

Requirements:

License to practice respiratory care in the state of employment (Idaho or Oregon).

Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross at hire.
