We are seeking an experienced Senior R&D Engineer with a passion for designing and developing innovative implanted medical devices and delivery systems in our Structural Heart (SH) Division. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient lives while driving business growth and advancing industry standards.

**About the Role**

This role involves conception and development of catheter-based devices and accessories, as well as responsibilities such as test method development, build and bench testing, design analysis, 3D CAD modeling, material research, prototype design, manufacturing support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for designing and developing new products specific to catheter-based technology, ensuring compliance with procedural and documentation requirements from regulatory bodies like Abbott, FDA, ISO, and others. Additionally, you will establish test methods, conduct model development, support bench/animal testing, and clinical evaluations. You will also provide technical direction to machinists/technicians and offer constructive feedback to other engineers.

**Requirements**

We require a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with 5+ years of experience in Research & Development engineering in medical devices or highly regulated industries. A Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience. Strong technical knowledge, critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essential. Experience in designing nitinol and/or catheter-based devices, performing design verification testing, and leveraging various manufacturing processes is preferred.

We estimate the base salary for this position to be $72,700 - $145,300, depending on the location.
