Job Title: Analytical Chemistry Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an analytical chemist to provide technical support in delivering services and development efforts for DEVCOM CBC. The successful candidate will work with toxic industrial chemicals, chemical warfare agents, and other threat agents using spectroscopic techniques like NMR, IR, and Raman spectroscopy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute analytical methods using various technologies.
  • Analyze materials for stability, chemical, and physical characteristics.
  • Conduct data analysis for projects using analytical equipment for detection and quantification of chemicals.
  • Communicate with government principal investigators on project requirements.

Requirements:

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry or Environmental Chemistry preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum one year's experience in operating analytical laboratory equipment; two years' experience preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in chromatographic method development, thermal desorption systems, and commercial off-the-shelf instruments.
