About the Role:

Southern Industrial, a leading provider of rigging services, turn-key industrial construction, and plant maintenance services in the Southeast, is seeking a skilled Billing Coordinator to join their Corporate Accounting Department in Raleigh, NC.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in construction accounting, with strong analytical skills and the ability to think independently. They will be responsible for preparing customer invoices for medium and large-sized projects, working closely with Project Managers, Billing Supervisors, and other teams as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare customer invoices based on numerical and contract-specific data

Deliver final invoices to clients via mail, email, or electronic invoicing systems

Provide support to Billing Supervisors and Project Managers in opening, maintaining, and closing projects within the ERP system

Communicate with Billing Supervisors and Project Management regarding contracts, change orders, and other contract modifications

Resolve issues with invoices that cannot be matched to customer-issued purchase orders or contracts

Prepare industry-standard AIA Forms for progress or percentage-based projects

Generate OCCIP/CCIP, Certified Payroll, Lien Releases, and Supplier Affidavits as necessary

Participate in customer-requested audits of project cost entries

Work within a team to satisfy customer-specific requests

Provide daily and/or weekly reporting related to billing status of open contracts

Maintain historical records and ensure contract/job files are up-to-date and complete

Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential

Contribute to accomplishing both accounting and organizational mission by completing related tasks as needed

Requirements:

Minimum three years of experience in construction accounting

Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work well within a team environment

Analytical skills and the ability to think independently

Possesses forensic accounting skills to identify and resolve discrepancies

Computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and database management

Basic clerical skills, including data entry, report preparation, and file maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Timberline/Sage accounting software

Associates Degree or equivalent
