Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Imaging Extern II PRN, Radiology to join our team at UP Health System – Marquette. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures utilizing appropriate equipment, working under the direct or indirect supervision of an imaging technologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate stationary and portable diagnostic imaging equipment in all imaging divisions with assistance and guidance of an imaging technologist.
  • Work under the direct or indirect supervision of an imaging technologist while performing diagnostic radiographic examinations.
  • Process images, evaluating for technical quality and notifying appropriate personnel of any follow-up needed.
  • Assist in staff functions such as registering patients, general office duties, filing, and transporting patients if necessary.
  • Review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an imaging program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine/Molecular Imaging, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or MRI technology.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP).
