Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

Sonix is seeking an experienced electro-mechanical engineer to lead the design and development of our next-generation scanning acoustic microscope products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing new product platforms from proof of concept to production release, including all aspects of product design.

The engineer will work closely with multiple teams, including internal and external partners, to develop innovative designs and build proof of concepts to solve challenging engineering problems.

The position will provide opportunities for domestic and international travel to visit vendors and customers to collaborate on designing and building next-generation solutions and gaining valuable feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical systems for scanning acoustic microscope products.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings to brainstorm creative solutions and troubleshoot problems.
  • Report project status to the management team and identify risks and issues that may impact schedules.
  • Visit customers to gain insight into how our tools are used and learn how they can be improved.
  • Manage system certifications to ensure compliance with safety guidelines and ISO standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a highly technical environment.
  • Experience with designing semiconductor equipment and industrial mechatronics systems.
  • Experience with motion control systems and vibration analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in technical project management and team leadership.
