Nutrition Therapist

Job Summary:

The Brooklyn Hospital Center seeks a skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team in planning dietetic treatment programs for hospitalized or ambulatory patients. Under the supervision of the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the successful candidate will provide normal or therapeutic nutritional care, education, and counseling in accordance with current and evidence-based established procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for patients with various health conditions.
• Conduct nutrition assessments and provide education to patients and their families on healthy eating habits and disease management.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in nutrition therapy.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Nutrition or a related field.
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited Supervised Practice Program in Dietetics.
• Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Minimum one year of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian (RD).
• Certification with New York State as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board certification in a specialty area, such as Nutrition Support or Pediatrics.
• Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency.
