Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at Conifer Health Solutions. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating patient scheduling, registration, and pre-admission processes.

About the Role:

  • You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Responsible for performing scheduling, registration, and patient pre-admission functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all interactions.
  • You will greet customers following Conifer Standards of Care, providing world-class customer service and completing full patient registration at date of service.
  • Educate patients about patient financial liabilities and employ proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during, and after date of service.
  • Perform Hospital cash reconciliation and secured payment entry in adherence to financial and cash control policies and procedures.
  • Secure medical necessity checks/verification in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services, verify insurance, benefits, coverage, and eligibility, complete assigned registration financial clearance work lists activities, obtain insurance authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled Hospital services, and secure inpatient visit notification to payors.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; some college coursework is preferred.
  • 0-1 year in a Customer Service role, 0-1 year administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related area is preferred.
  • Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm and demonstrated working knowledge of PC/CRT/printer.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to receive and express detailed information through oral and written communications.
  • Course in Medical Terminology is required; understanding of Third Party Payor requirements and Compliance standards is preferred.
  • Must be able to perform essential job duties in at least two Patient Access service areas, including ED.
