Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electromagnetic Systems Engineer to join our team at Fisica, Inc. in San Leandro, CA.

This is a challenging role that requires expertise in testing and troubleshooting microwave components, sub-assemblies, and final products to ensure they meet company and customer specifications.

Main Responsibilities
  • Set up and verify the accuracy of standard microwave bench test equipment, including sweep generators, network analyzers, and frequency counters.
  • Perform microwave tests, take measurements, and tune products to meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoot components, sub-assemblies, final products, and/or systems and test equipment to identify causes and remedies for malfunctions.
  • Analyze data and recommend commercial test equipment for use in the production test department.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve problems related to testing or assembly.
  • Provide work direction to junior technicians as needed.
  • Review and analyze antenna data for trends and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Test and evaluate special-purpose test fixtures as required.
  • Maintain, repair, and fabricate production test equipment (production and prototype).
  • Develop and document test procedures and special applications as needed based on product specifications.
Requirements
  • A minimum of eight to ten years of experience in related fields or an associate's degree in electronics and relevant specialized training.
  • Proficiency in using complicated drawings and specifications, advanced mathematics, precision measuring instruments, and experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing microwave products, equipment, and components.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel occasionally.
  • Good manual dexterity and sufficient vision to see small parts and discern symmetry.
  • Able to tolerate exposure to fumes, dust, toxic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, and moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, pushing, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Security Clearance eligibility.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $63,000 - $113,000, depending on experience and location. Fisica, Inc. offers a comprehensive benefits package, including relocation assistance, 401(k), PTO, EAP, and company-paid holidays.
