Diagnostic Imaging and Therapeutic Procedures Cardiovascular Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Specialist to support critical cardiac catheterization procedures at the Miami VA Healthcare System. This role directly impacts veteran patient care through the operation of advanced cardiac imaging and monitoring equipment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining specialized cardiac catheterization equipment, including X-fluoroscopy, intravascular ultrasound, and hemodynamic monitoring systems. They will assist in cardiac procedures, such as biopsies, valve replacements, and coronary interventions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain specialized cardiac catheterization equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Procedure Assistance: Assist in cardiac procedures, including biopsies, valve replacements, and coronary interventions.
  • Patient Care: Monitor patient vital signs and assist with patient preparation and transport.
  • Documentation: Document procedures in VA electronic health records using CPRS and XPER systems.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • An Associate's degree or equivalent in a related healthcare field.
  • Current RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' current experience within the last 6 months in a cardiac catheterization lab.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification.
  • The ability to reside within a 30-minute radius of the facility for on-call response.
  • Experience with cardiac imaging systems and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record documentation.
