About the Role

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to fill our Medical Records Specialist position. This role involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of medical records and release of health information regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access and prepare medical records as needed for patients, internal staff, and external third parties.
  • Maintain accurate processing of medical records requests from patients, providers, and other third parties.
  • Facilitate responses to patients' rights requests pertaining to medical records as provided by HIPAA and other federal and state privacy laws.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 6+ months prior experience executing medical records requests AND 6 months of contact center or customer service experience within the last 4 years.
  • A deep understanding of HIPAA guidelines and associated privacy policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high comfort level typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through on meeting goals and deadlines despite obstacles.
