Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist at Beebe Healthcare, you will provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients, checking prescriptions, diagnoses, and patient identification, scheduling patients and explaining treatments, answering questions, and reassuring patients.

  • Deliver prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients
  • Check prescription, diagnosis, chart, patient identification, etc.
  • Schedule patients and explain procedure pre- and post-treatment
  • Answer questions and reassure patient
  • Interface with physicist, dosimetrist, and mold tech at initiation of treatment or when required
  • Prepare room and equipment for patient according to the prescription
  • Transfer patient to treatment couch
  • Maintain visual and/or audible contact with patient during treatment
  • Check daily treatment time and deliver prescribed dose
  • Maintain patient markings
  • Document daily assessment, treatment record, and any other pertinent information
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should have two years of experience as a radiation therapist, completion of a course in radiation therapy, and essential skills such as clear communication, confidentiality, crisis management, customer service, and electronic health records.

Credentials include a Radiation Therapist license, Basic Life Saving certification, and Delaware State Radiation license.

Education includes entry-level and expert positions at USD $35.15/Hr. and USD $54.48/Hr., respectively.
