Job Description:

In the Tuberculosis Clinic, we seek a dedicated Medical Professional to perform basic technical LVN nursing procedures. This individual will ensure an efficient flow of clients through the clinic and collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform duties within the scope of LVN practice/protocol.
  • Administer immunizations, PO medications, and other injections as directed by the RN or assist other nurses as requested.
  • Gather blood and other specimen samples as needed.
  • Document appropriate information in client records and report relevant information to primary healthcare providers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Educate clients on various medications and the importance of adhering to medication regimens.
  • Makes home visits to assess clients' physical and mental status, collect specimens, or provide DOT/DOPT services.
  • Compile information and prepare LVN activity reports, including but not limited to monthly TDH vaccines.
  • Participate in TB contact investigations or outreach screening activities as required.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and account for vaccines and testing materials.
  • Assist in training new employees as necessary.
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings.
  • Stay up-to-date on new trends and innovations in the field of nursing.
  • Perform all other related duties assigned.
Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or higher education is required.
  • Completion of an accredited LVN program resulting in licensure is mandatory.
  • One (1) full-time year of healthcare or related work experience is essential.
  • A current Texas or multistate compact (including Texas) LVN license is required; please note your license number in the 'Certificates and Licensing' section of the application.
