Job Description

At Wyetech LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer 3 to join our team. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in languages such as C, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript, and Java. You will also have experience with agile development processes, source code control systems, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

As a Software Engineer 3, you will work closely with our team to analyze user requirements, derive software design and performance requirements, debug existing software, and correct defects. You will also design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features, write or review software and system documentation, and integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Debug existing software and correct defects.
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
  • Write or review software and system documentation.
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.

Requirements:

  • TS/SCI with agency appropriate polygraph.
  • Master's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Or Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux CLI.
  • Experience developing and maintaining scripts using Bash/Python.
  • Experience developing with Python and Java in a Linux environment.
  • General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, libraries, and packages in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd.
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience administering Kubernetes clusters on bare metal in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) concepts, principles, and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
  • Experience with Git Version Control System.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and applications.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience using system monitoring tools such as Grafana/Prometheus.
