Project Oversight Specialist

This position is responsible for managing and overseeing a portfolio of projects within the Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan. The incumbent will provide financial and administrative support to ensure processes and procedures are followed.
The ideal candidate will have experience in financial reports, data analysis, and reconciliations. They will also be familiar with the SHARE financial module and have a strong understanding of budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, and contract management.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation provides a safe and efficient transportation system for the traveling public while promoting economic development and preserving New Mexico's environment. The Project Oversight Division plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing a vast portfolio of projects, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively and projects are completed in compliance with established guidelines.
The incumbent will provide research and analysis for files, prepare reports, and provide analysis for rules and regulations. They will also be responsible for programming and overseeing Federal-Aid and State Funded Projects within the Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan.

Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, and/or contract management
- Experience with financial reports, data analysis, and reconciliations
- Familiarity with the SHARE financial module
- Strong understanding of budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, and contract management
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage
- Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required
