The Senior Product Development Manager will lead the product development process across a portfolio within the assigned category, driving commercialization on time and within budget. This role requires strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a developmental mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Closely monitor product return levels, develop corrective action plans as needed, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Fulfillment and Supply Chain/Sourcing.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Compliance to facilitate performance and packaging testing, review designer and supplier drawings, and ensure adherence to design intent and product quality.
  • Communicate key issues to the Director of Lifestyle Development in a clear and timely manner, conduct in-depth reviews of prototypes, and ensure products meet or exceed all standards for build quality, ease of assembly, packaging, comfort, value, etc.
  • Create quality criteria for new programs, maintain/develop Quality Assurance Protocols with Supplies, and ensure all new developments meet target costs and margin requirements.
  • Facilitate prototyping with Engineering and/or Suppliers, generate Request for Quote (RFQ) bid packages for new developments, manage review/selection processes, and lead weekly meetings with cross-functional teams to share progress and conduct prototype/design reviews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in development-related functions and disciplines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program/project management, entrepreneurial mindsets, abstract analysis skills, and logical approaches.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, ability to present complex concepts concisely, and interpersonal/communication skills particularly when communicating with team members across cultures and functions.
  • Financial literacy, ability to perform retail math, and knowledge of furniture construction and market landscape.

We offer a $120,000 - $150,000 per year salary, depending on experience, plus benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
