Automotive Sales Representative

Sell automobiles by understanding and demonstrating vehicle characteristics, capabilities, and features, as well as developing and qualifying buyers and closing sales.
Key Responsibilities- Understand the Ford product line by studying characteristics, capabilities, features, and comparing and contrasting competitive models.
- Approach, greet, and offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
- Offer test drives to all prospects, following dealership procedures to obtain proper identification from customers prior to test drives.
- Demonstrate automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, features, and explaining warranties and services.
- Satisfy the transportation needs of the buyer by understanding buyers' requirements, interests, and developing rapport with customers.
- Know and understand equity and values, and be able to explain depreciation to customers.
- Complete quotes and explain financing options in accordance with established dealership policies.
- Closes sales by overcoming objections.
- Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to customer arrival.
- Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features.
- Introduce customers to the service department and schedule first service appointments.
- Follow up on all post-delivery items to ensure that all customer expectations are met.
- Follow up with prospective customers and respond to email/voicemail.
- Ability to read and write, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner, extending every polite custom and courtesy to all customers.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
- Basic MS Office knowledge, computer software, and internet proficiency.
- Excellent appearance, verbal/written communication, strong negotiation, and presentation skills.
- High school degree or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license that meets dealership insurability requirements.
- Must be able to walk the sales lot and showroom to review inventory and greet customers for at least 8 hours in a shift.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds on occasion.
- Must be able to push, pull, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must have close and distance vision.
- Must be able to drive company vehicles.
- Must be able to type.
