Job Summary:

The Troup County School System is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing prevention, assessment, and remediation services for students who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice, and fluency.

Responsibilities:

Organize and implement a speech-language program that supports the curriculum and instruction for students with disabilities.
Consult with school teams regarding expected communication skills for students and make recommendations if students demonstrate speech-language deficiencies.
Follow federal, state, and local due process procedures to identify, evaluate, and diagnose students who may need speech-language services.
Plan evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students.
Maintain confidentiality of students and student records.
Adhere to local, state, federal regulations and ethical practices when providing all speech-language services.

Requirements:

Valid certificate in Speech Language Pathology; S-5.
Ability to work cooperatively with school personnel to accomplish the goals and objectives of the local education agency.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of students and student records.

Working Environment:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 10% lifting/carrying and 80% standing/walking.
