About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team as a travel professional in Decorah, Iowa. This is a 13-week contract position that offers a unique opportunity to work with a reputable healthcare institution while exploring a new city.

Job Overview

This role involves providing exceptional support to surgical teams in a fast-paced operating room environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during operations, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Carefully handle and prepare equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient data, including medical histories and treatment plans.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
  • Experience working in an operating room setting, preferably with general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, podiatry, urology, and dental cases.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, with ability to maintain focus during prolonged periods of concentration.
  • A commitment to staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Work Environment

You will be based at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa, working primarily Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Some flexibility may be required due to varying surgery case loads, but your dedication and adaptability will be valued.

Compensation and Benefits

This role comes with a competitive compensation package, including a tax-free stipend amount. The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 per year, which translates to approximately $31.25 per hour based on 40 hours per week and 8-hour shifts.
