Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Echocardiographer to join our team at Baystate Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing echocardiographic procedures, including 2-D, M-mode, Doppler, and color mapping echocardiograms, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiographic diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians for patients.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure their cooperation and optimal test results.
  • Position patients and select appropriate transducers for scanning.
  • Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment and make hard copy images as directed.
  • Document test results and complete worksheets.
  • Consult with others to obtain a complete clinical history and gather pertinent clinical data.
  • Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, conferences, and workshops.
Requirements
  • Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Required)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
