Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Pre-Owned Operations will be responsible for leading Rivian's pre-owned vehicle operations, overseeing the inspection, certification, refurbishment, and resale of pre-owned Rivian vehicles. This role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of automotive operations, including extensive experience in inventory management and refurbishment processes.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in an OEM environment and expertise in electric vehicles, combined with exceptional executive-level communication skills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance the efficiency and profitability of our pre-owned vehicle operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the daily operations related to inventory management, vehicle refurbishment, and certification processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and operational excellence.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of professionals, setting clear performance goals, conducting regular reviews, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in pre-owned operations, implementing best practices to streamline workflows and boost operational performance.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring high standards of vehicle quality and addressing any issues or concerns related to pre-owned vehicle sales and service.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Service, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure cohesive operations and effective communication across the organization.
  • Operational Performance: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze operational data, and produce comprehensive reports to support strategic decision-making and performance evaluation.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with legal regulations, industry standards, and Rivian's internal policies.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience working in an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) environment.
  • 5-10 years of extensive experience in automotive operations, with a strong background in inventory management, refurbishment operations, and a deep understanding of electric vehicles.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at an executive level, with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant automotive industry certifications (e.g., Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)) are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with advanced automotive technologies and digital tools related to vehicle management and sales is preferred.

Estimated Salary Range:

$129,200 - $161,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

Benefits:

Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
