Job Overview

Passion for Life, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering under-resourced youth to transform their passions into rewarding careers. We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Communications Manager to join our team and drive the development of our internal communications strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Create and implement enterprise-wide communications that align with our growth strategy, ambition, and values.
  2. Drive the continuous improvement of internal content and ensure it is engaging, informative, and accessible to all stakeholders.
  3. Update and maintain Passion for Life's intranet, ensuring it is a valuable resource for team members and stakeholders.
  4. Provide communications counsel to Passion for Life team leaders and key stakeholders, helping them to effectively communicate their messages.
  5. Recommend and implement new and innovative communication methods to enhance our internal communications.
  6. Actively contribute fresh, outside-in thinking to ways we build awareness and understanding of Passion for Life organizational information.
  7. Improve volunteer connectivity and engagement by developing targeted communications campaigns.
Requirements
  1. Associate's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in managing/writing at an agency or in a corporate/nonprofit environment, content development, public relations, or a related field.
  3. Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
  4. Copywriting and content management experience.
  5. Leading, collaborating with, and managing a team.
  6. Self-starter willing to take initiative and own projects.
  7. Demonstrates effectiveness in meetings and task forces.
  8. Ability to interface with all levels of the organization (both internal and external).
  9. Excellent storytelling, written, and verbal communication skills.
  10. Effective project management and time management skills are critical.
  11. Ensure fulfillment of the mission of the organization.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, or a related field.
  2. Experience in content marketing for a non-profit organization.
  3. Knowledge of web design.
Additional Information

Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hours/week depending on needs, including monthly meetings, weekly conference calls, and busiest time period work consistent throughout the school year. Term limit: 6-12 month commitment. Note: Unpaid position.
