Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Driver to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our delivery team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of food products to our customers.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL Class A license, 12 months of commercial driving experience, and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local routes, performing safety checks, and interacting with customers in a professional manner.

You will also be required to follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety guidelines, as well as maintain accurate records of your hours of service and enter them into the logbook accordingly.

Responsibilities
  • Drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local routes to deliver food products to customers
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety checks on vehicles, including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, answering questions and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Maintain accurate records of hours of service and enter them into the logbook
  • Fulfill other related duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Valid CDL Class A license
  • 12 months of commercial driving experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to lift and move freight of varying size and weight, up to 90 pounds
  • Able to pass a post-offer drug test and background check
