About the Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Department Chair of Accounting at Quinnipiac University's School of Business. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our accounting program and contributing to the university's mission of excellence in education, research, and service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the accounting department, aligning with the university's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the department's AACSB accreditation process and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Manage the department's budget, staffing, and scheduling, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and implement innovative curricula, programs, and services to meet the evolving needs of students and the accounting profession.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to promote the department's mission and goals.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students and fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and research.
  • Conduct research and publish scholarly articles, maintaining a strong reputation for academic excellence.
  • Serve as the Master of Accounting (MSA) program director, overseeing program development and implementation.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and success, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in accounting from an AACSB-accredited university or other relevant terminal degree.
  • Record of academic excellence in scholarship and teaching, with a strong potential for departmental leadership.
  • Experience in higher education administration, with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFP) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
