Job Summary

The City of Peoria's Development and Engineering Department is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Inspector to join their team. As a key member of the Engineering Services Division, this individual will serve as a liaison between contractors, developers, utility companies, and other City departments and staff.

The successful candidate will perform journey-level work in the inspection of development projects, construction of City infrastructure projects, and non-City owned utilities. This will involve inspecting workmanship and materials used in various projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and departmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect construction activities and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations
  • Perform acceptance testing and monitor construction progress
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, and utility companies
  • Collaborate with City departments and staff to ensure effective project delivery
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus additional coursework or training
  • 2-4 years of experience in civil inspections, construction monitoring, and acceptance testing
  • Valid Arizona Class "D" Driver's License
  • APWA Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector (CPII) certification required within one year of hire
