Job Description

The Clinical Lead and Manager for Nursing Operations is responsible for ensuring a high standard of care and exceptional clinical service in the Apheresis Clinic and Cellular Therapy Collections Program. This role involves providing direction and managerial oversight for nursing staff, assessing clinical competencies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise nursing operations and staff in the Apheresis Clinic and Cellular Therapy Collections Program
  • Oversee policy implementation and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and prepare for audits and accreditation processes
  • Provide clinical guidance, training, and competency evaluations to nursing staff
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care quality, implementing improvements as necessary
  • Manage resources effectively, including staffing, budgets, equipment, and supplies
  • Uphold ethical standards and ensure compliance with institutional policies

Requirements:

  • Current NYS RN license - BSN required
  • Master's degree in nursing or health-related field preferred
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • 3+ years of management experience required
  • Qualification in Apheresis issued by the American Society for Apheresis preferred or to be obtained within one year of employment
  • Advanced knowledge of apheresis procedures, including red cell exchange, plasma exchange, photopheresis, and mononuclear cell collection
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards (FDA, AABB, CAP, FACT, DOH, TJC, and commercial agencies)
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
