Job Summary:

A Clinical Allergy Specialist at United Allergy Services is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the allergy center, administering allergy tests, educating patients on allergen immunotherapy, and providing patient-centered care to those suffering from allergies.

This role involves performing clinical and administrative responsibilities in a medical provider's office, working directly under the supervision of a physician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains an understanding of allergens, the allergic response, and UAS clinical protocols.
  • Administers safe and effective immunotherapy processes, including quality allergy testing and formulation and preparation of allergy immunotherapy.
  • Educates patients on administering injections with immunotherapy.
  • Ensures patient progress by following up with patients and ensuring timely pickup of immunotherapy.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork and verifies insurance eligibility for each patient.
  • Administers patient scheduling in person, via phone, or through UAS centralized scheduling protocols.
  • Handles and submits billing documentation to the appropriate office via EMR systems or otherwise.
  • Maintains and secures clinic inventory levels, ensuring timely ordering and receipt of inventory.
  • Develops and maintains effective, professional relationships with providers and medical office staff.
  • Escalates patient or other questions to the appropriate team member or provider in a timely manner.
  • Meets strategic goals and objectives of the clinic and company related to assigned clinic productivity and revenue.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in health sciences or business is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of full-time equivalent work experience in a healthcare, hospital, customer service, retail, or similar industry.
  • Nursing or other medical technician certification(s) as required by state or local area regulations for the clinic area.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure suitable results.
  • Ability to travel periodically within the local clinical area and occasionally overnight to other clinic or business locations when needed.
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Bi-lingual abilities may be required, with the ability to fluently and correctly communicate and translate messages verbally and in writing in the required language.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Workday, and SharePoint will improve success.
