Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse I to join our team at the Orange County Health Department. As a Public Health Nurse I, you will be responsible for providing basic public health nursing care in homes, clinics, or other community service settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic public health nursing care to patients in homes, clinics, or other community service settings.
  • Work under the general supervision of a Public Health Nursing Supervisor I, with some leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in public health nursing.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or registered college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or graduation from a School of Professional Nursing.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
