We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at Methodist Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you can grow your skills and expertise.

The successful candidate will participate and lead pharmacy clinical or operational programs, including monitoring patient medication regimens and providing appropriate interventions. You will also assist in mentoring pharmacy staff and precepting students/residents, as well as evaluating and implementing clinical/operational programs. Additionally, you will interpret orders accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system, compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, and comply with facility policy and procedures and regulatory requirements. You will also provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners, suggest therapeutic alternatives, sustain the hospital formulary, and lead and develop pharmacy clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, and other programs defined by Pharmacy Leadership.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree, a minimum of 3 years' experience as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist (in a specific area of focus) or at least 5 years of general hospital pharmacy experience required; preferably within area of focus. Completion of a PGY2 pharmacy residency or fellowship, BCPS certification or other Board of Pharmacy Specialty (BPS) certification, and ACLS/PALS and NALS certification required for critical care/ED position dependent on population served are also required. Current Registered Pharmacist licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Licensed pharmacist in another state: Provide proof of the Authorization to Test (ATT) from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is also necessary.
