Role Overview

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with background check regulations, maintaining the integrity of our hiring process, and upholding the trust we have with our employees, customers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and Analyze Background Reports: Conduct thorough evaluations of investigative reports to ensure accuracy, identify potential risks, and make informed decisions about candidate suitability.
  • Maintain Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local and national laws governing background checks, ensuring our practices align with these standards.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with Recruitment Managers, HR Directors, Legal Department, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, provide guidance, and ensure seamless communication.
  • Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Address problems with submitting background checks online through 3rd-party vendors, minimizing disruptions to our operations.
  • Risk Evaluation and Documentation: Process risk evaluations, gathering required documentation, and partnering with relevant staff for final decisions.
  • Verify Eligibility and Communicate Results: Ensure that persons ineligible to work are not hired or continue working, notify operations of eligibility status, and communicate with customers and vendors as needed.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or Equivalent Experience): A degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Background Regulations: Familiarity with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and state and national background regulations.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to discuss technical issues clearly and concisely.
  • Collaboration and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, foster collaborative relationships, and maintain high standards of professionalism.
