Accountant Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Mission, KS or Topeka, KS. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the accounting department and performing various accounting tasks, including completing related documentation, reporting functions, identifying fixed assets, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with other accounting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the accounting department, including completing related documentation and reporting functions.
  • Identify and process fixed assets, ensuring accurate reporting of depreciation and reconciling the fixed asset sub ledger to the ledger.
  • Perform reconciliations to the ledger for assigned accounts, including bank accounts.
  • Complete assigned accounting projects, including processing transactions and updating ledgers.
  • Verify accuracy of documentation and balances, including inventory transactions and reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Prepare monthly reports, including financial statements and other relevant data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping programs and related software, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
