Recreation Superintendent

Job Summary

As a Recreation Superintendent, you will be responsible for directing recreation activities at County recreation centers, aquatics facilities, parks, athletic fields, and playgrounds. This role involves planning, scheduling, promoting, and administering a comprehensive recreation program, including general recreation programs, athletics, camps, and special events.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and participate in the planning, development, execution, and coordination of comprehensive recreation programs and events
Supervise all components of an operation, including event management, partnership agreements, contractual obligations, public safety, law enforcement, risk management, etc.
Plan, assign, supervise, coordinate, and review the work of recreation personnel using effective methods of evaluation, leadership, and instruction
Investigate and act upon requests, suggestions, and complaints concerning recreation services
Supervise and participate in the promotion, explanation, and interpretation of public recreation objectives, benefits, and program activities to community civic clubs, organizations, citizen groups, and individuals

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
Seven (7) years of experience in event management, recreation management, leisure services, athletic or recreation programming, to include supervisory experience
Must maintain a valid driver's license
