Nurse Practitioner

The Registered Nurse (RN) will coordinate clinical office activities, under the direction of physicians, and the schedules of clinical staff. This role will prioritize incoming phone calls, assess caller symptoms, and advise on basic treatment or urge them to seek care in the office or emergency department. The RN will also provide support to Certified Nursing Assistants and Certified Medical Assistants functioning in the Medical Assistant position in the clinical setting.
Responsibilities- Triaging patients, taking patient vitals, obtaining medical information, charting, preparing exam rooms, and other duties as assigned
- Developing and training clinical staff
- Providing support to Certified Nursing Assistants and Certified Medical Assistants
- Exhibiting effective communication and staying current with disease processes, outbreaks, and other relevant information
- Completing required documentation consistent with the system used in the facility
- Registered Nurse with license eligible to practice in the state of North Carolina
- Prefer two years of experience working in a physician's office
- Ability to work independently, have strong oral skills, good basic math skills, and be computer literate
- BLS certification maintained
Extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and stooping may be required. Ability to hear clearly and have visual acuity necessary for computer use. Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding, and writing. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Ability to hear and distinguish heart, lung, and bowel sounds.
