Overview of the Role

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in our Hospice Care team, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to patients in their homes. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care that meets the unique needs of each individual.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics to perform specific techniques of personal and supportive care.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding, and perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
  • Observe, report, and document any changes in patient's status, and follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist, and perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
  • CNA experience within the last two years.
  • Current CPR certification.
