Critical Care Medical Assistant

The Paramedic position at Christus Health is a vital role in our Emergency Department patient care team. As a certified and/or licensed paramedic, you will work collaboratively with nursing staff to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Operate patient monitoring equipment, record rhythm strips, run 12 lead EKGs, biomarkers, and glucometer readings under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Perform phlebotomy, collect laboratory specimens as ordered, and insert saline lock, Foley catheter, and nasal gastric tubes under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Assist in patient care, obtain and document vital signs, provide patient hygiene, and maintain clear and respectful communications with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, manage assigned supplies and equipment, and demonstrate proficiency in setting up and performing procedures as delegated.
- Transport patients to radiology and nursing units (except ICU) utilizing appropriate transport and monitoring equipment.
- High School Diploma required.
- Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: DL in state of employment, EMT P License in state of employment, BLS required.
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on location and experience.
