Job Title: PACU Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PACU Nurse to join our team at Platinum Medical Staffing. As a PACU Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support to patients recovering from surgery.
Responsibilities:
* Provide direct patient care to patients recovering from surgery, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing basic care.
* Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
* Conduct pre- and post-operative education to patients and families.
* Serve as a liaison between the operating room team and patients and families.
* Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the continuum of care.
* Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
* Assist in positioning and responding to the comfort and safety of patients.
* Observe and enforce strict standards of asepsis.
Requirements:
* Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
* Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board.
* Minimum of one (1) year post-recovery/PACU or pre-op experience.
* Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) with current BLS/BCLS certification.
* Successful completion of ACLS with current ACLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent.
* Previous experience as a Travel Nurse or in a similar position is preferred.
* Orthopedic experience a plus.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work with limited supervision.
* Compassionate and empathetic.
