Job Overview

As a Phlebotomist at Sampson Regional Medical Center, you will play a vital role in the laboratory team. Your primary responsibility will be to collect blood specimens from patients using various techniques and ensure their integrity according to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register patients using Lab Outreach
  • Scan laboratory documents into the EMR
  • Obtain blood samples by capillary, arterial, and venipuncture
  • Transport, receive, centrifuge, aliquot, and distribute specimens
  • Submit specimens to reference labs and maintain reference lab systems and files
  • Maintain supply inventory and receive and distribute incoming supplies
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of phlebotomy training program
  • 1 year of college with courses in mathematics and biology preferred
  • National Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician preferred
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
Compensation and Benefits

We offer an estimated annual salary of $55,000 to $65,000 depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
