Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Digital Content Specialist to join our team in San Luis Obispo, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining internal and public-facing websites, as well as digital assets, while ensuring compliance with web accessibility standards.

About the Role:
As a Digital Content Specialist, you will work under the direction of the Senior Transportation Planner to perform various activities at the technical analytical level. This includes website management, research, analysis related to website performance, and ADA documentation remediation. You will also analyze graphic content, develop and maintain internal and public-facing websites and digital assets, meeting Department of Transportation (Caltrans) mandated web accessibility standards. Additionally, you will ensure content intended for public consumption is compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, CA Assembly Bill 434, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain internal and public-facing websites and digital assets
* Ensure compliance with web accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG
* Analyze graphic content and develop recommendations for improvement
* Conduct research and analysis related to website performance
* Participate in the development and implementation of digital content strategies

Requirements:
* Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a State-owned or leased vehicle
* Completion of a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ), discussing how your education, training, experience, and skills meet the criteria in the duty statement and qualify you for the position
* Ability to work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting
* Availability for occasional travel to other district offices or locations throughout the State for trainings, meetings, or conferences that may include overnight travel

Working Conditions:
This position is located in San Luis Obispo County and may be eligible for telework. While Caltrans supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises.
