Mammography Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Focus Staff. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography procedures in a timely manner, adhering to established protocols and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform mammography procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a physician office, clinic, or hospital setting.
  • Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exams are performed, and establish rapport.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, positioning patients and adjusting immobilization devices as needed.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies.
  • Work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment and report issues to management.
  • Obtain, verify, and maintain relevant documentation, including requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, and shielding precautions taken.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Mammography Tech (Certified Mammography Tech)
  • AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
  • BSN from accredited nursing program, and proper licensure
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families
