About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and timely communication to the Registered Nurse regarding patient observations and changes.
- Participate in maintaining a safe environment and utilize interventions to de-escalate patients.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, ambulation, meals, and nourishment.
- Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques and body mechanics.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school education or GED.
- Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills to gather information, build relationships, and provide exceptional service to patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated clinical experience in a similar setting.
- Prior inpatient or outpatient care experience or clinical care training.
Work Schedule:
- 4 x shifts per month, with 2 x shifts on weekends.
- Mixed shift schedule.
