Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Wheeling Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms, prepares for physician visits, and obtains initial information and vital signs.
  • Prepares exam rooms for patients, ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures, under the direction of a licensed healthcare professional.
  • Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
  • Assists providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Educates patients on follow-up expectations and ensures they understand their treatment plans.
  • Maintains quality control testing logs and ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assists with office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, and performing data entry.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of clinical experience.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of healthcare education coursework.
  • One year of healthcare experience.
