Job Summary

Portland General Electric is seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Principal Technical Business Support Analyst to join our Vegetation Management Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical business support to optimize technology, systems, and business processes for our ~600 operational employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of GIS data and applications for Vegetation Management.
  • Proactively monitor department's systems and software, identifying potential gaps or issues, and resolving or mitigating them to ensure operating systems meet business requirements.
  • Respond to and triage issues from end users on department's systems and software, researching and investigating root-cause issues and leading cross-functional efforts to resolve.
  • Analyze anticipated system upgrades or changes from a cross-functional perspective, identifying and driving the mitigation of potential issues, and recommending and implementing new functionality to provide operational improvements and efficiencies.
  • Design, build, and maintain complex reports, dashboards, and analytics of VMP's performance-based metrics, recommending and operationalizing creative ways to provide data to end users to support business process and system improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, GIS, or other related field or equivalent experience.
  • Eight or more years of experience in GIS applications for utility operations, along with IT troubleshooting or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with ArcGIS and related GIS technologies, QuickBase software, and configurating systems or application system development.
