Job Summary

Administers prescribed ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians.

Responsibilities
  • Delivers prescribed course of radiation therapy, observing radiation safety measures for patient and personnel.
  • Prepares room and equipment for patient, giving attention to special needs.
  • Maintains records of daily treatment, including patient charts and blood counts.
  • Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students' practical ability to perform procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy [R.T.(T)(ARRT)] and applicable State Certification of Therapeutic Radiologic Technology (RTT): Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Preferred
